North American P-51D Mustang (new project)
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog while we are discovering new things in 2020. And nothing like a good Blog to entertain you.
For today, I started a new project on Blender, still related to World War 2 aircraft like the Lockheed P-38 Lightning and the Messerschmitt Bf 109. For today, the aircraft is the North American P-51D Mustang. Also known as the Cadillac of the Skies, the P-51 was the pinnacle of the American engineering for the propeller-based aircraft before the development of advanced jet fighters like F-86 Sabre, MiG-15, Sukhoi Su aircraft, Mirage and stealth aircraft like F-117 Nighthawk, SR-71 Blackbird and B-2 Spirit. During WW2, the P-51 Mustang was one of the fastest aircraft to perform escort, patrol and combat missions. It excelled the G version of the Bf 109 and D version of the FW 190. It served on every Theaters of Operations in Europe and in the Pacific in 1942. Mustang saw service in other countries until its retirement in 1984 by the Dominican Air Force. Nowadays they are one of the greatest attractions in the aircraft shows.
For the rendered images, I'll share them to you.
Unlike my previous projects, I made a great jump by making a considerable amount of components like the wings, propellers, fuselage with the tail-rudder, the armaments and antenna. I plan to make the cockpit, pilot seat, ailerons, elevator, landing gears and the air intake below the fuselage (the 'belly' as I could say).
Probably for my next videos, I'll bring it in my next Working on Small Attempts video. And speaking of which, I uploaded a new video on my channel, showing the Bf 109, P-38 Lightning and the Panzer 1. I'll write a new Blog talking about the updates on these vehicles.
