Claymore - Miria and Helen (new project)

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog while we are discovering new things in 2020. And nothing like a good Blog to entertain you.

For this blog, I visited some of my previous projects related to Claymore since I lay low for a while after my trip to celebrate Christmas and Happy New Year. But for today, I decided to bring back that series into activity and nothing like two amazing characters from Claymore. The characters of this choice are Miria and Helen.

Let's start with the former Number 6 and captain of The Ghosts: Phantom Miria.

For Miria's spaulders, I used a different object to model the upper section of it on Blender while reusing the lower section from the original spaulders. Since I have some images of her from the anime, I could only count on that and my best shot to make it. For one hand, it's looking good so far.

And now let me show you the former Number 22: Helen.

Unlike Miria's spaulders, I reused the original model with the addition of an extra metal plate to protect the warrior's shoulder. For the rendered images, I used different textures for the respective character - all made on Gimp2 and Easy Paint Tool SAI. Perfect to save me of a hard work. In the future I'll make the metal pieces for Helen's 'sleeves'; and the buckles for our lovely warriors.

The carriers remain the same since there are few characters with different models, taking the example of Ophelia, Flora, Jean, Undine and few others.

Now that question: How I'm going to make Helen's arms to stretch?
Simple. Since she has the Extendable Limb ability, one of the possible and accessible idea is adjusting her Armature and bones to stretch with Extrude or moving the tip of the bone to the desired location / target.

In the future, I plan to make the others and my OC’s, but such work will requires time and patience because I have been the only person interested in Claymore to make all the hard, painful work. There are some moments my brother can give me some help. Well, I hope you like what I did for Helen's and Miria's spaulders. I plan to share more artworks and other things I did in my time. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see it. See you next time.
