New video, Panzer I mit 75 mm gun (April Fools) and new updates for: Tiger I - April 2nd, 2023

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog here to start 2023.

I recently learned the town hall is calling more approved candidates from the selective process exam for the attendant vacancy to work at the public health center. At least this is good news as my former employers informed me they will resume the calling. As far I remember, the other candidates in front of me in the classification are from other cities and some may be employed - which will speed up the calling to reach me. Until then, let's wait.

I'm not sure I'll continue my studies for the civil service exam scheduled on May of 7th of this year. I haven't paid my subscription and in case I want to perform it, I have the deadline to April 6th before it expires and my subscription cancelled. And I'm still waiting to be called to work as a teacher by the Government's selective process I assigned for a while. Both are great in case I'd receive some payment for my services and skills.

Putting my personal news aside, let's go to the important thing here in this Blog. For today, I'm going to share you a new video I uploaded yesterday and new images of the Panzer I mit 75 mm gun and the Tiger I.

In case you ask, the Panzer I mit 75 mm gun was a mini-project for fun while yesterday was April Fools' Day. The idea for the funny mini-project was: in a fictional WW2 story, the Germans saw a great interest to install the 75 mm KwK 40 (L/48) cannon on the Panzer I since most of tank divisions consisted on these light tanks compared to the Panzer III and IV. And with the crescent threat of the Allied modern tanks like the M3 Lee, M4 Sherman, M10 Tank Destroyer, T-34, T-70, KV tanks, SU-85, SU-100, Churchill, Comet, Crusader, Archer, Bishop and others. However the Panzer I was too small to receive the KwK 40 gun, instead the engineers installed the Panzer III / IV turrets into the Panzer I's chassis while its original turret was installed behind the new turret - located at the same place as the storage box.

I'll show you the images of this vehicle:

There it is. The German Panzer I mit 75 mm gun. The "mit" is "with" in German. After appending the turret into the light tank, I noticed it didn't came with the coaxial MG34. Instead, I added a 20 mm KwK 30 cannon from the Panzer II. Although ineffective against heavy armored vehicles, the 20 mm gun would be used against light armored vehicles. The Panzer I's turret would be used for rear defense against any infantrymen that could hit the German tank from behind.

Now, here's one thing. Out of curiosity, I found out the Germans had indeed installed a 75 mm cannon, but not with the Panzer III / IV's turret like in my fun model. And for training new tankers, they added a Panzer III's dummy turret on the Panzer I. Despite that, imagination can bring some ideas into interesting designs, like for example the KV-VI (the famous Soviet fake tank created by Brian Fowler).

Don't worry, this is going to be saved in a different project file to maintain the original Panzer I's model. I hope you like my creation, the Panzer I mit 75 mm gun.

Alright, time to share my video I uploaded yesterday.

I know, it's been a while I didn't brought new videos related to my Bf 109 timelapse video series. I plan to resume it, starting with an update to the rigging system. For this video, I corrected the bones related to the wheels, the ailerons and the flaps. I really wanted to do that early, but the lack of proper time, ideas, mood and techniques made me to leave the series so sudden. To my surprise, it surpassed 20 views. People really like Blender tutorials. The next thing to do is remaking that piece from the Bf 109's flaps, making the edge slats from the wings like I did to my Lavochkin La-5, La-5FN and La-7; and a nice texture. After that, I'll resume the Avro Lancaster series.

To conclude this Blog, I'll share you the images of my Tiger I's replica.

Alright. The Tiger I is looking nice. I remade its tracks and front wheels. I tried my best to make them while following the photos and some models at Sketchfab for reference.

One thing I noticed was: while I was going to render the images, the process was aborted due to the 'out of memory' message. Although I setup to render with the GPU instead of the CPU, I guess the tracks was using too much modifiers for the computer I use to render. One of the modifiers I must give up is the Subdivision Surface.

Yet, I applied it to my Panzer I's, Panzer III's and Panzer IV's tracks. Fortunately I still have the Panzer I's original tracks without that modifier applied before making its texture. That will make things a little easier. For the Panzer III and IV, must redo the UV Mapping and texture in order to re-import it to these two German medium tanks. Probably I may reduce its size since there is no big details compared to the chassis, turret and other components.

Regardless, this German heavy tank has some nice appearance. Other components that received its adjustments was the gunner's hatch, the turret's lateral sights and some 'extra pins' next to the KwK 36 gun's mantlet.

The next components to add are more cables, an external MG42, the working tools, the lights, the towing hooks, more components to the Tiger I, a nice texture and rigging it.

In case you want to take a look on my MG42, I'll leave some of the images of it.

There it is: the dreadful Maschinengewehr 42 or simply by MG42. I hope you guys like it. Not very common from me to share my firearms in development to this Blog - being common on TonyGamingProjects' main Blogspot. Still, just for preview.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
