New updates for: Spitfire Mk I; and Just for Fun: Bf 109 vs Spitfire - July 1st, 2020
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on July 1st - the other half of 2020 and hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.
For today, I'll be showing new renders of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk I and a small interesting render tests for a dogfight simulation between the Spitfire Mk I and the Bf 109E-4.
Supermarine Spitfire Mk I:
Looking good. Don't you agree?
I made several attempts with HUE tool on Gimp 2 for the grayish-light blue spots to a brown dry mud (it's how I call my colors for the aircraft). Though it's still using the same pattern from the Mk IX, I may do some changes to create different camouflage patterns.
I also a small adjustment on the propeller spinner, the letters and on the flag roundel by enlarging it on the tail rudder. I don't remember if the Mk I has the mirror on the outside of the canopy like in the Mk IX version or it is inside on the cockpit for the pilot to watch out for enemy aircraft coming from behind during aerial battles.
Speaking on dogfight, let me show you what I did recently.
Impressive, huh? I know, both aircraft still have the Mirror modifier without being applied - which one side of the wing is identical to another. Yet, since it is for a small experiment, I decided to leave that while rendering the scene in different angles. In the future when I have all the aircraft concluded and refined, I plan to make some small animated motions with them and upload on YouTube; and import them on Unity for my War Thunder / IL-2 Sturmovik mini-game.
After these renders, I picked up the first image to make a montage on Gimp 2.
I imagine the idea behind this scene probably was the beginning of the Battle of Britain where the Royal Air Force and Canadian Air Force fought the German Luftwaffe and the Italian Air Force.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. I'll be back with more in this year. I plan to share more artworks and other things I did in my time. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see it. See you next time.
