New updates for: P-38 Lightning - 09/18/2019

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another blog here in the middle of September. For this one, I'll be showing you new rendered images of Lockheed P-38 Lightning.





Reminder: Prior to the arrival of Blender 2.8, the only thing I changed on the P-38 is the new texture for the turbochargers coils. I added some rust and white effects on the texture to be looking similar to metal surface. On the current updates, I added some 'holes' on the spinner for the propeller's socket; the wings' aft part (adjusted after these renders) and a small adjustment on the nacelle's section where the turbocharger outlet is located. Later, I enlarged it and made few modifications on the propellers.

Another thing I did - just for testing, is the temporary textures for the spinners and the aircraft's surface.




The first render is the P-38 with its current temporary texture, with yellow colored spinners. The second render of the model shows the aircraft with a silver texture and red colored spinners - based on its experimental (XP-38) and prototype versions (YP-38).
The last render of the P-38 has a night blue texture to make similar to the P-38M - the night fighter version of the Lightning. Although I'm not big fan of the P-38M due to its radar equipment and the cockpit adjusted to fit the second seat for the co-pilot, I know that version was important for the Americans to fight the Axis forces at night beyond the daytime.

Probably in the future - after we finish the P-38 project, I plan to make the other aerial fighters from World War 2 - like the Messerschmitt BF 109 E-4 variant, Focke-Wulf FW 190 D9 'Long-Nose Dora', Messerschmitt ME 262, P-51 Mustang D variant, Supermarine Spitfire Mk V and Mk IX, Mitsubishi A6M Zero, Yakovlev Yak-9 and some others. With these fighters along the P-38, this is going to be one of the greatest parties ever done.

Some things related to my personal life haven't been going well and sometimes it has affected my work a little - making me think about finding something else to do in life and giving up my current position. Concluding the Nieuport 28 and Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (new project) - January 8th, 2026

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog here to start 2026. I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. Updating the computer that I use, job, studies, playing video-games, watching some YouTube videos, listening to some musics and doing my chores at some moments decreased my spare-time dedicated to Blogs. I'm still moving some things from Windows to Fedora Linux and testing some things, like OBS Studio, Audacity and some other programs. I still need to see if I'm going to install HitFilms via Bottles or plan to find for another video editor software that could be compatible with Linux. There are others, but I'm not going to consider Lightworks. I tried it once before knowing HitFilms, but my brother and I didn't enjoy it due to a series of factors. Our beloved dog Julie...

Hello everyone. I hope everything is alright around you. For this Blog, I'm going to change a little bit the topics. Just this time, I think. Usually, I'd post anything joyful or full of happiness. But now, things started pretty down. Julie - our beloved dog; passed away now on February 18, 2026. She was one of the things that brought joy and happiness at home. She enjoyed a car ride, loved a bed, loved to make some poses, some meal, to be part in conversations - even not being invited (lol). She didn't like taking baths or getting groomed, and she didn't like being alone at home. During storms or rains, Julie was afraid and would hide under our beds when she was little - a thing she was traumatized when she was a puppy. I'll leave some of the photos of her in this Blog.
