New Updates for: M3 Half-Track and Me 262 - September 9, 2021
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on September 9 - past the half of 2021; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this month, my university semester is in course - in which my attention will have to be re-directed to the new tasks, in addition to my service at the public health center. And to complement it, Warframe introduced the new Nightwave chapter - which will shorten my time with Blender projects again. (sigh) Let's not go into that detail.
For this Blog, I'm going to show you the new adjustments of the American M3 Half-Track and the German Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a. In case you're not familiar, I wrote a Blog where I presented you the initial renders of the American half-track. (M3 Half-Track (new project), Resuming my studies and A small pause with Claymore projects... for now)
M3 Half-Track:
After the last Blog I wrote, the major updates on the M3 Half-Track were: a rework on the machine-gun located on the ring - which previously was an M1919A4 Browning LMG, replaced by a .50 caliber Browning machine gun (sometimes called M2 Browning); the tires; the seats for the driver, gunner, front passenger and the rear passengers; a new component for the front bumper; the front wheel metal sheets and a rework on the track damper system spacing. It's looking good after this rework.
I made the sheets for the engine cooling stage; the turret for the M2 Browning along the ammo box, the front sights and the handle; extra component on the 'box' lateral sections and the tracks. After what I learned in how to make tracks in Blender like I did for my Panzer I, I made a simple track piece, then I added the Array and Curve modifier to it. I personally liked to see the results from the tracks after some adjustments on the main mesh.
The next components for the Half-Track are: the steering wheel and panel, the conclusion for the M2 Browning and M1919A4 Browning, the front window shielding, the main suspension system from the tracks, the decals, a nice texture and rigging it.
Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a Schwalbe:
The Me 262 received a new update after the last Blogs. The changes were: the fairing for the front landing gears after extracting some mesh from the fuselage, a rear navigation light and two antennas. One of the blueprints I downloaded from the Internet didn't showed the antenna from the wings while in some photos had it. For that I decided to include the antenna to my model. The Me 262 looks good with the fairing, but it's tiresome and troublesome to rework the mesh after extracting some pieces to make the fairings, flaps, ailerons, elevator, rudder and canopy hatch.
On the last renders, I included the pilot seat, stick, panel and reflective sight I appended from the Bf 109 projects - with some slight modifications. Looks good despite it wasn't a big change compared to the last update. Due to my time divided between games, studies, service and housework, to work on Blender is quite limited to my spare-time and weekends (and when I don't have plans on working in several projects).
The next components for the Messerschmitt Me 262 are: the flaps, the navigation lights on the wing tips, the fairings for the wings landing gear and a proper texture - I will use the painting tools from Blender itself. The plane is already rigged. All I need is to make the actions like I did to my other planes.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
