New Updates for: Me 262 - September 24, 2021

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on September 9 - past the half of 2021; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this month, my university semester is in course - in which my attention will have to be re-directed to the new tasks, in addition to my service at the public health center. And to complement it, Warframe introduced the new Nightwave chapter - which will shorten my time with Blender projects again. (sigh) Let's not go into that detail.

For this Blog, I'm going to show you the new adjustments of the German Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a. Let me show you what I did so far.

The Me 262 received new changes compared to the last Blog. The new components made were the flaps, the navigation lights on the wings tip and the fairings for the landing gear on the plane's belly. I struggled to find the exact position from the landing gear to the spacing from where it's retracted during the flights. Plus, I had to count with photos since there's no proper blueprint / schematics that shows the Me 262 landing gear alignment, position and rotation from the main structure to the ground without the engines to block it.

Other thing I had to struggle is to remade the Armature and adjust the groups in the Vertex Group with the new Armature since I appended from piston-engine planes to a jet-plane. Curious fact that the first prototypes were piston-engine planes until 1942 they started to test the BMW 003 and Junkers Jumo 004 jet engines on the Me 262. The animation for the landing gear being retracted and released during take-off and landing was also one of the things I had difficulties for adjusting it if wasn't for War Thunder and IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad and Bodenplatte.

And now let me show you the big update on the German jet fighter.

After concluding some things from the mesh and rigging the plane, I applied the Mirror modifier from the wings, fuselage, elevator, rudder and engines; then the next step is to select the necessary edges to mark seams for the UV Mapping. With that done, I unwrapped its map to paint it with Blender painting tools. The Messerschmitt Me 262 is looking amazing with this texture. There are others I plan to do, but I'll keep this one since I like the gray color pattern on top of the light blue surface. The yellow stripe was made on the fuselage texture instead of a plane with Shrinkwrap attached to that component.

The Luftwaffe roundel on the fuselage looked a little raised when I looked at some photos. That detail was corrected later.

The last thing to do is the texture for the instrument panel; and the Pitot tube. I noticed it was the last thing left from the build-up process - which I made it recently after this Blog. Other than that, I believe all components are looking good to go.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
