New Updates for: Kübelwagen and Small Update for: German Planes - August 28, 2021

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on August 7th - past the half of 2021; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.

For this month, my university semester has started - in which my attention will have to be re-directed to the new tasks, in addition to my service at the public health center. And to complement it, Warframe introduced the new Nightwave chapter - which will shorten my time with Blender projects again. (sigh) Let's not go into that detail.

For this Blog, I'm going to show you the new adjustments of the German Kübelwagen, along a small update for my current WW2 German planes. Let me show you what I did so far.

Volkswagen Typ 82 Kübelwagen:

I included new components for the Kübelwagen, like the shovel, more bumps on the engine access door, the fuel port (located next to the steppe - right side) and the blackout driving lamp (located next to the left headlight - it has the same functions of the main light, but with minimal reach in order to avoid being caught by enemy forces during night operations).

In addition to these new components, I made some adjustments on the glass material for the Kübelwagen. After watching some tutorials, I decided to go for Principled BSDF over Glass BSDF since most Blender artists are choosing it over the other node due to its 'near realistic features' and a clean appearance when it comes to rendering after I noticed a difference on my P-51D Mustang and the Spitfire. But that will be for another Blog.

After these renders, I made new changes on the Kübelwagen.

I made some towing hooks and the identification board on the front and rear side of the German vehicle, along the rear light, the support beam located after the front seats, some hooks for the windshield and the link for the rearview mirror. The backseat received some adjustments, but pretty minimal next to the new components.

I was working on the plate located down on the rear side of the Kübelwagen, but I noticed it would require more photos for reference on that section. The next thing to do is work on that section, including the hood, the panel, the rear lights, the right-sided mirror, the hood (I plan to make it in stowed mode instead of extended in case of sand storm / raining / snowing weather) and a mounted machine gun - MG34 or MG42; then I'll rig the German Kübelwagen. I'm not sure I plan to make the engine.

Now to the German planes. While I was looking at some photos, I knew most of them had the Hakenkreuz (aka swastikas) on the rudder. But, since a considerable number of game artists made the German planes without that due to the whole thing of not including any Third Reich related symbols (except for the Balkenkreuz) or some had to be censored, I decided to make something similar to Heroes & Generals and some of the initial German planes in War Thunder - making another Balkenkreuz based on what it would be the Hakenkreuz.

Let me show you what I did.

Junkers Ju 87B-2 Stuka:

Heinkel He 111H-1:

Focke-Wulf FW 190A-8:

Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4:

Messerschmitt Bf 109F-3:

Messerschmitt Bf 109T-3 Trägerflugzeug:

Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a Schwalbe:

I know I had my doubts about including it or not, but I decided to make a censored version of the Hakenkreuz - different from IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles and from some surviving German planes in Europe that are airworthy. Probably it might be used for the Allied and Soviet planes captured by the Germans for the Zirkus Rosarius (the research division of test and evaluation of captured planes) or the Kampfgeschwader 200 (in English "(Air) Combat Squadron 200" - the German group that operated Allied captured planes).

Of the current planes, the He 111 is the only plane that received a small update in these last days - precisely the landing gears. I plan to continue working on it.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
