New Updates for: A6M 'Zero', Ju 87 Stuka, Bf 109T-3 and IL-2 - August 7th, 2021
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog. We are now on August 7th - past the half of 2021; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this month, my university semester has started - in which my attention will have to be re-directed to the new tasks, in addition to my service at the public health center. And to complement it, Warframe introduced the new Nightwave chapter - which will shorten my time with Blender projects again. (sigh) Let's not go into that detail.
For this Blog, I'm going to show you the new adjustments of the Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21, the Junkers 87 Stuka, the Messerschmitt Bf 109T-3 and the Ilyushin IL-2 Sturmovik. Let me show you what I did so far.
Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21:
Amazing, huh? I included the 7.7 mm Type 97 machine guns on the nose and the 20 mm Type 99-1 Mk.3 cannon in the wings; along a hook under the plane's fuselage. I tried my best to align the weapons inside the cockpit based in some photos of its instrument panel. Also, I tried to adjust the glass node material in order to fix some issues related to its reflective details.
Compared to the last update, I changed the rear side base from the wings connected to the fuselage and scaled some vertices from that component conected to that piece. Other than that, it didn't received new updates. Probably for the next Blog, I'll bring new renders of the A6M Zero with the aerial attachments, ailerons and landing gears.
Probably for the next Blog, I'll bring new renders of the A6M Zero with the landing gears from the wings, the aerial attachments, ailerons, flaps, elevator, the internal components like the seat and instrument panel, texturing and rigging the plane.
Junkers Ju 87B-2 Stuka:
The Stuka received a new letter C decal. I know the style doesn't match with the German letter style for their WW2 planes, but I plan to change it later. Aside from the new decals, I made a small adjustment on the elevator mass balance and the sirens. Also, I included the links and mass balance for the flaps and ailerons and some metal pieces inside the air intake under the nose.
The plane is almost complete - with only the extra links to the ailerons, the bomb sight under the panel, the dive flap links, texturing the plane and rigging it. In case I plan to print it, I'll share some of the photos of the printed Stuka for you to see it.
Messerschmitt Bf 109T-3:
The Messerschmitt BF 109T-3 Trägerflugzeug (carrier aircraft) received a new texture for its wings and fuselage. In order to change a little bit, I looked at Google for some ideas of different images made by artists that built models of the German carrier-based aircraft. I know there are no living exemplars of the BF 109T-3 nor colored photos, I believe a little of fantasy and creativity will do in case there would be some units made for naval operations.
Ilyushin IL-2 Sturmovik:
The Ilyushin IL-2 received the landing gears, navigation lights and ailerons. When I was working on the ailerons, it was a pain since the main mesh can create some bumps while Subdivision Surface is on after I extracted some small pieces from it. Along the ailerons, I made the trims connected to a link - precisely one attached to the elevator and one attached to the ailerons.
I also included an aerial attachment to the Soviet plane and a rudder mass balance. I would make another trim for the rudder, but I noticed the edges are not proper aligned - which would be tricky to make the trim. As I would say: 'That would be for another time.'
The landing gears attached to the wings need to be concluded before I can start the doors from the undercarriage. Also, the bomb bay doors under the wings, the rocket hacks, the Soviet theme decals (like the iconic За Родину! - For the Motherland!), the cockpit internal components, texturing the plane and rigging it are the only thing to do in order to complete this tough Soviet warbird.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
