New updates for: B-29, Meteor, M3 Lee and Churchill; and just for fun - Heinkel He 111 - February 23, 2025

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog here to start 2025.

I know. New year, new big surprises, new big changes and new updates related to my 3D projects.

Now that I'm working on the new role as health community agent, my colleagues and I are visiting the families as part of our job to improve the health quality in our community and town. Things are looking good and we're enjoying in our new role.

And, again, new Nightwave chapter has arrived. (NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) I guess it never ends. (sigh)

Let's go for what it's important than Warframe. For this Blog, I'm going to share you the images of the B-29 Superfortress, Gloster Meteor, M3 Lee and Churchill.

Boeing B-29 Superfortress:

The B-29 received a new Armature from the B-17, with minor adjustments to fit in the aircraft. In addition, I made some adjustments for the cockpit, the fuselage, the turrets and the forward landing gear. The animations were made and revisited for corrections.

The following renders will show you a split section of the B-29 Superfortress.

Similar to what I did for the Lancaster and the B-17, the B-29 is showing its sections like the cockpit that houses the pilot, the co-pilot, the bombardier, the engineer, the radio operator and two gunners, the bomb bay and the rear where the remaining gunners operate their advanced gun sights and turrets.

Minor adjustments would be necessary in order to conclude its modelling procedure, like the bulkhead for the bomb bays. I had plans to remake the turrets, but I may use Bump textures. After that, I'll texture the B-29 Superfortress and the Tupolev Tu-4.

Gloster Meteor Mk III:

Alright. The Gloster Meteor with a nice temporary texture. I decided to make the Mk III in parallel with the F.4 model. The minor differences between the two variants are the wings tips and the engine nacelles. The Mk III retained the semi-elliptical wing design from the Mk I and the nacelles were short (the late models) while the wings from the F.4 model had a clipped tip and the nacelles stretched. Later models had a rudder redesigned and an external fuel tank installed under the fuselage.

Now, back to the model. I remade the rudder and the fuselage's tail. After revisiting War Thunder, I noticed the lower section of the rudder was larger than the upper section. Although I tried to remake it with a copy from that component, I though on selecting a piece of it and extruding up.

Other components added are the flaps and the cockpit components (imported from the Spitfire). The temporary material was imported from the Junkers Ju 88 project since it is the closest option. The colors for the Meteor Mk III has been selected from one of the blueprints I found on Google.

The next thing to add are the navigation lights and the fairings for the landing gears located beneath the wings. Then I'll make the textures for both the Mk III and the F.4 and rig them. In the future I'll make the F.8 - the last model built.

It's been a while since I've started WW2 tanks. I made minor changes in some of them, in particular the M3 Lee and the Churchill. I plan to continue working on the others and bring the images in future Blogs.

M3 Lee:

I made some changes on the M3 Lee. The main one is the chassis. Seeing the pictures and blueprints, I tried to adjust some of the faces to fit in the drawings. Others changes included are the sights and the fuel ports - imported from the M4A1 Sherman; and the hatches. So far, it's looking good.

The next components to work are the top cupola, the other hatches, the driver sights, the tools and a nice texture.

Churchill Mk VII:

The British Churchill received the forward and rear wheels along the tracks. Minor changes includes the hatches on the turret and chassis; and a ring from an extracted piece from the turret.

Personally I find the Churchill a bit easier, if not for the details. Still, some photos to assist me will speed up the development of this heavy tank. Another thing that come across my mind is making some cylinders without relying too much on Subdivision Surface in order to reduce the size in memories. I may revisit my tank projects in order to apply some things from Arijan (now Aryan) videos to my tank replicas.

Before concluding this Blog, there's one last thing I want to show you. While I was working on the Heinkel He 111, I decided to play a little bit.

Let me show you what I did.

What I did was: I painted the German bomber in black while leaving the propeller spinners in red. The idea was to paint in the colors based on Motörhead's Heinkel He 111 for their album - Bomber. And, since Lemmy Kilmister wanted a German plane for the band's album, Adrian Chesterman suggested that twin-engine bomber and took several photos with the assistance of lights to recreate a Blitz-theme artwork.

Although I retained the German roundels, I may replace them with Motörhead logos.

And for fun, I'll share the next renders of the He 111.

Incredible. Don't you agree? I decided to retain the Hakenkreuz for the He 111 since Lemmy would prefer to see a WW2 German plane in its original markings, despite the controversies of enjoying some German regalias, including an Iron Cross and some SS ceremonial daggers. Also, some people might complain for censoring the fin flash while others don't.

I plan to recreate the album artwork, once this German bomber is complete and add the bombs.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
