New updates for: Horten Ho 229 and concluding the La-5, La-5F and La-5FN - July 12, 2024
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2024.
I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. Job, studies, playing video-games, watching some YouTube videos, listening to some musics and doing my chores at some moments.
I'm now working on the new role as health community agent. These days were pretty nice and easy, despite they were related to the administrative, reception and pharmacy routines. Few were related to the role we (my colleagues and I) shall perform. For now we are in the training phase.
The 8th semester is finished. Another thing I won't be bothered with. After the second university, I'll give a break for good.
New Nightwave intermission chapter is now complete, again.
Enough of that, let's go to the important thing in this Blog. I'm going to share you the new rendered images of the Horten Ho 229 and the Lavochkin La-5.
Horten Ho 229 V3:
The Horten Ho 229 received a minor retopology after that I made the lower section of the plane for the landing gear. In addition, I tried to fit the engine nacelles to the middle section and adjusting the canopy to the new model. Also, I completed the forward landing carriage, made the doors from an extracted piece of the mesh and added the decals. So far, it's looking good.
Next components to do are the fairings for the other carriage, the flaps and ailerons, the navigation lights, a nice texture and rigging it.
Alright. Time to share you the images of the Lavochkin La-5 and its variants.
Lavochkin La-5:
I've been working on the Lavochkin La-5 and its variants these days, making the textures for the Bump, Metal and Specular mode. I added some wearing marks around the metal components with few on the wooden surface and some metal rings around the engine cowling. A while ago, I noticed it only had the elevator trim on the left side. I found it curious, but I decided to follow it instead of mirror it for the right side.
Another feature I added is the material for the navigation lights. In order to save me from adjusting the Emission strength by individual materials, I joined the stern, the starboard and the port lights into one material. Same thing I did for the landing lights from the P-38 Lightning, the P-51 Mustang and the F4U-1 Corsair. Unlike the main textures, I made it in low resolution since there's no big details.
The La-5 model is available at my Sketchfab. I'll leave the link for you to visit it:
And now the variants.
Lavochkin La-5F:
I included the La-5F as well since it introduced the improved canopy for the pilot's better visibility during dogfights.
The La-5F is a mixture of the La-5 and the La-5FN, with the fuselage and canopy has been appended from the La-5FN while the engine flap cowling, air intake and texture appended from the La-5. Aside from the plane identification marking, minor differences is the white color for the rudder and propeller spinner.
The La-5F model is available at my Sketchfab. I'll leave the link for you to visit it:
Lavochkin La-5FN:
Lastly, the La-5FN - which by the time I started the project, was the first model selected before the La-5. The original set of colors remained, with minor changes on its textures. I may plan to make an alternative texture with green and black.
The La-5FN model is available at my Sketchfab. I'll leave the link for you to visit it:
The three Soviet planes are now ready. I plan to bring the La-7 here in the future. I started it a while ago, using the La-5FN model in a different project file.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
