New updates for: A6M 'Zero', P-51D Mustang and B-29 - May 30, 2024
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2024.
I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. Job, studies, playing video-games, watching some YouTube videos, listening to some musics and doing my chores at some moments. Still, while I'm waiting to be called to work as a health community agent. Probably this month the city hall will be able to call me for the position since I passed the civil service exam.
I'm almost concluding my second graduation. I performed the last exam yesterday and I got the highest score. I guess the 8th semester is finished.
New Nightwave intermission chapter is now on (Man, what a pain!). I guess I have no other choice.
Enough of that, let's go to the important thing in this Blog. I'm going to share you the new rendered images of the Mitsubishi A6M2 'Zero' Model 21, the North American P-51D-15 Mustang and the Boeing B-29 Superfortress.
Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21:
The A6M2 received a nice treatment with a new Bump, Metal and Specular texture. I've been working on these textures for the aircraft while I was working on the Ki-43, P-51D Mustang and the Spitfire. Now this Japanese aircraft is looking nice with these lines.
Like the Hurricane, the flight control components from the Japanese Zero are fabric and to make it different from the metal surface I used several layers of dark gray (for Specular) and black (for Metal) while the aluminum surface is using gray / light gray color. This give a nice effect for aircraft made of steel, aluminum, wood, plywood and fabric.
Next thing to do is completing the Bump texture, add some dirt and wearing effects on the main texture.
Boeing B-29 Superfortress:
Alright. The B-29 Superfortress. I decided to pay it a visit while I have countless of other projects to finish. I did my best to make the windows from the upper section of the canopy by using several copies of the fuselage. One of my attempts produced some results, despite of merging some vertices, using Crease Edge and more subdivisions. For one thing, it looks good, but some things could have been better.
I still have the duplicates and the main model for the fuselage in case I plan to remake it. The major concern is using too much subdivisions to the point that the project becomes too heavy to run.
Aside from the upper section of the fuselage, I added the landing gear for the engine nacelles. Despite the wheels existed after the forward undercarriage, I decided to conclude it. I made the fairings that connects to the main component.
The B-29 Superfortress looks good. The next components to add are: the engines (not necessarily the entire object. I'll import the forward section of the Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone, like I did for the B-17, the F4U and the P-47), a minor adjustment on the rudder, the fuselage, the flaps, the engine undercarriage, the interior (from the cabin to the bomb bay and the gunner stations), the other decals, a nice texture and rigging it.
Any chance of adding the decals with 'Enola Gay', the Little Boy and Fat Man (the two atomic bombs)?
I guess so, even it might bring some discomfort since the Enola Gay dropped the Little Boy bomb on Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945. The other B-29 (Bockscar) dropped Fat Man on Nagasaki on August 9th, 1945.
North American P-51D-15 Mustang (for fun):
Like the A6M and the Spitfire, the P-51D Mustang received its Bump texture. I've been working on it for some time. The model looks nice, although the lines used for the main texture of the wings looks too sharp. I plan to adjust it with Gimp and give a smooth appearance. Additionally, I need to complete the Bump texture of the fuselage to add the lines of wear marks and dirt accumulated in the spacing between the aluminum sheets.
For fun, I decided to render the Mustang in its flight mode. The American air fighter looks amazing. In the future I'll make some animations with this aircraft escorting the B-17s to Germany and protect the bombers from German fighters, including the Messerschmitt Me 262.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
