Overtime and plans of concluding my projects - April 14, 2024

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2024.

I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. I got some extra days of work at the public health center. For one thing is good, but I'm getting worn out by the passing days without a regular time to rest. Still, while I'm waiting to be called to work as a health community agent, I'll have these overtime shifts to increase my income.

My 8th semester is still ongoing. I'm finishing some things related to my graduation, then I'll give a break for good after my second university.

Nightwave intermission chapter is complete, so I don't have to worry about it.

Enough of that, let's go to the important thing in this Blog.

I've been working on the current projects and some of the previous projects remain still, with some kinda frozen with little to no signs of progress. The idea I have to share is: I'll conclude the previous ones that I started in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Although I have more than ten projects started, I'll select the ones I believe I can conclude before I plan to start any other project in mind.

The major topics I'll focus for this endeavor is my WW2 planes and the projects I plan to select are:
Supermarine Spitfire Mk I

Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX

North American P-51D Mustang

Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21 Zero

Avro Lancaster Mk III

Focke-Wulf FW 190 A-8

Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a Schwalbe

Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a/U-4

Ilyushin IL-2 M3 Sturmovik

Curtiss P-40N Warhawk

Nakajima Ki-43-I Hayabusa

Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien

I was working on the Spitfire's Bump texture a while ago. I plan to revisit it and correct some things before concluding the main texture and making the Metal and the Specular textures for the two British air fighters, as I did for the Hurricane.

The P-51 and the A6M Zero received their Bump textures, but I'm concluding it gradually before I'd add the dirt, the wearing marks and the extra smoke. However, as I was working on the Mustang, I tried to bake the materials into texture in order to add the yellow and black marks into the main texture. The results didn't answered my expectations. They will remain as materials unless I plan to use the Blender painting tools to paint the marked areas, even if they'd come with sharp pixeled lines. After the A6M2, I'll make the A6M4 / A6M5 variant.

For the Lancaster, I'll record more videos of its development in order to make the next video for the timelapse series on my YouTube channel. I'll add the internal components, the textures and rigging it.

The FW 190, the Me 262, the P-40 and the IL-2 will also receive the Bump, Metal and Specular textures in order to look amazing. For the German jet fighter, I'll make the automatic slats from a piece of the wings' mesh, like I did for the La-5, the Bf 109 and the Bf 110. Also, I'll share the images of the FW 190 D-9. I'm not sure I'll make the Ta 152 from that German plane or I'd make it from scratch with few components recycled / imported.

The Ki-43 and the Ki-61 are rigged and ready to receive a nice texture. Before I can do that, I'll bake the textures with Blender before using Gimp to make the details.

Speaking on the Ki-61, I'll share some images of that Japanese air fighter.

Amazing, huh? My third Japanese plane rigged and flying. I made some small changes on its spinner, like the holes for the propeller blades. Probably for the Sentai emblem, I may do that in texture. Perhaps in the future I'll make the Ki-100 - the updated version of the Ki-61 'Tony' with a Mitsubishi Kinsei radial engine in place of the Kawasaki Ha-40 V-12 inverted inline engine acquired from the Germans to be manufactured under license in Japan. The major change is the engine cowling and spinner for the Ki-100 and the bubble-type canopy for the Ki-100-I Ko / Otsu (Japanese designations for sub-variants).

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
