New updates for: Panzer IV, La-5FN, Hurricane Mk I and P-40N - January 31, 2023

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog here to start 2023. I know I've been absent for a while without a new Blog. I performed the civil service exam on January 15, 2023. I'm waiting for the results from the exam, which is taking some time to be announced. Now that the job contract at the public health center has ended, I'm going to have all the time to study, do my personal things like Blender, Unity, literary works and finding a new job in the meantime. Yet, the town hall from where I live is calling more candidates qualified from the selective process to work at the health center. There's a chance they will call me to work at that place one more time. Who knows? Also, I'm waiting to be called to work as a teacher by the Government's selective process I assigned for a while. Both are great in case I'd receive some payment for my services and skills.

February is close. That means my next semester will start soon. At least I'll conclude my graduation on the first semester of 2024, then I'll stop for good.

And again, my brother and I reached the max level of the new Nightwave intermission chapter. Some of the challenges are locked due to my current stage - especially those that involves the Zariman. I started the New War a while ago but, when I was recording the next chapter, I found out I forgot to start recording with OBS while Audacity was recording my voice. And as I concluded that specific chapter in order to proceed to another, I decided to play the entire quest without recording it in order to restart it. At least I recorded the Angels of Zariman but I'll upload the gameplay after the New War. I could do the Veilbraker, but I'll leave it for another time.

Alright. Enough of Warframe, let's go to the important thing here in this Blog. For today, I'm going to show the new renders of the German Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf F2(G), the Soviet Lavochkin La-5FN, the British Hawker Hurricane Mk I and the American Curtiss P-40N Warhawk.

Panzer IV Ausf. F2(G):

The Panzer IV received new changes after my last time I visited the project, like the suspension system on the rear wheel, the driver sights, the 'rings' around its turret, new bars to keep the Maybach engine outlet component, a holding bar for the engine access hatch and the transmission's access hatches. So far, so good.

Also, I made the 7.5 cm KwK 40 cannon from the F1 and early models of the G variants. The following images will show you a comparison of these cannons.

Impressive. Don't you agree? I plan to make the other variants for the Panzer IV like the F and early models, the H and J models - including the Schürzen spaced armor around the turret and chassis and a Zimmerit coating texture. And yeah, I also plan to add the Oarai Girls' Academy decals for Miho's Panzer IV.

Other components to include are the antenna, the hatches' locking pins, the working tools like shovels and cutting barbed wires, a rework on the chassis, a good painting and rigging the tank.

Lavochkin La-5FN:

The Soviet La-5FN didn't received big changes after my last Blog since I'm working on it along the La-5. The only thing I changed were the material for the upper section of the plane - from a green avocado to a gray color; and the VVS (Soviet Air Force) roundels - of a Red Star with a black line.

I'm still working on its retractable landing gear while the aerial attachments were made. The next components to make are the ailerons, the flaps, the automatic slats, the cockpit's internal components like the stick, the pilot seat and the instrument panel. After these two planes, I may start the Lavochkin La-7 from the La-5FN model.

Hawker Hurricane Mk I:

I decided to cut some holes on the Hurricane's lower section of the wings. The results, however, are quite worrisome. Of all things I work with planes, making the spacing for the retractable landing gear is the part I have troubles, even having several photos for reference.

Fortunately I always duplicate the models in case an attempt backfire. I guess I'll have to remake it or try my best to fit the mesh from the fairings to the wings. The next components are the flaps, some final adjustments on the Hurricane - especially that place I mentioned, a nice texture and rigging it.

Curtiss P-40N Warhawk:

I decided to revisit the Warhawk's texture. For the wings, I made the smoke coming from the guns' muzzle and the shell's outlet. For the flaps, I decided to paint entirely in gray. I don't know, the green and gray lines kinda didn't fit with what I expected. And for the fuselage, I painted the nose's air intake in dark gray. I rotated the Browning's base in order to fit it with the wings's painting line.

Now the P-40 is looking good and if I don't plan to add more things to it, I'd say it is finished. I have interest of making other textures for this American aircraft, like the RAF version when it saw action in North Africa; or the snow camouflage during the Eastern Front.

I hope I can conclude my other projects in this year I plan to start new projects. The idea is having most of my models ready before anything new to my to-do list. And, in case I would start a new project, I may use the Blender 3.3.1 version.

Why not use it to continue your projects you started with Blender 2.93.5?
I don't like the idea of using a new program version to work on my projects I started in the old versions in order to avoid some issues like what happened when I tried to work with Irene and Jean: the sword's rotation changed due to the Empty object attached to their Armature by Constraints (similar to Alucard's sword) and some hair strands got out of place.

The new projects I have in mind can be started in the new version, like the IAR-80, the Fiat G.55 Centauro, the Yakovlev Yak-1 / Yak-3 / Yak-9, the T-34, the M4 Sherman and others.

Anything in mind aside from WW2 vehicles and planes?
Probably I may start WW1 planes and civilian vehicles. One vehicle in particular is the Brazilian ROMI-Isetta. That story will be for another Blog.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
