New Updates for: P-51D and P-47D-25-RE - December 19, 2021
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog.
December arrived and the year is close to the end. Before we move on to the next year, let's write another Blog of 2021; hoping for the things to get better as the World continues in this fight for survival and to develop a (possible) cure for the COVID-19 pandemic - which I'm sure most of the people are vaccinated and taking all the precautions to avoid spreading the virus.
For this month, my university semester has been concluded - allowing me to rest from the studies while my addition to my service at the public health center is still in course.
Now for this Blog. I'm going to show you the new adjustments of the P-51D-15 Mustang and the P-47D-25-RE Thunderbolt. Let me show you what I did so far.
North American P-51D-15 Mustang:
The P-51D received a new texture and a rework on its markings - precisely the font type for its letters. I changed the Arial font to the USAAF Stencil font type. The Spitfire or any other British plane will remain with the Arial font type for its plane markings on its fuselage. I'm not sure the Germans use a solid font type, but the Soviet planes has styled font type - which I may use Easy Paint Tool SAI to make them.
The texture for the Mustang has been scaled to 4096x4096 instead of 2048x2048. Originally I used the 2048x2048, but the major idea was to avoid using too much materials for the plaid prints. However the quality of the painted areas didn't met the expectations - making to readopt the several materials into one plane. The smoke markings from the shells outlet, the guns and the engine exhaustion outlet has been made with Gimp 2.
I could say the P-51D Mustang is complete, unless I would complete the texture for the instrument panel. I may plan to make different textures for this American plane - one based in Red Tails - famous squadron of the Tuskegee Airmen - Afro-American pilots that flew in several missions during WW2, with one in particular the B-17 escort mission and their P-51 had its tails and wing tips painted in red.
Like this one while I was playing a little.
Republic P-47D-25-RE Thunderbolt:
The P-47D received a new markings around the plane's nose - precisely a letter and a number. The D4 markings represented a Brazilian pilot - this one was piloted by 2nd Lt. Rui Moreira Lima.
I know. Me being a Brazilian - had little knowledge of the pilots that flew during WW2 - with Moreira and Alberto Martins Torres the only pilots I know from that time. I really wish our history could be spread for those who want to know more of it. Unfortunately, our books has little knowledge from that time and a portion of those who lived it passed away.
Also plan to make for the other pilots. I remember the one piloted by Torres was the A4 and the D4 was piloted by Moreira Lima. I don't know the others like the B4, D3, B2, C5, D5, C1, C8, C4, A6, C6 (some sources inform the pilot was Renato Goulart Pereira).
The other changes was the fairings around the landing gears from the wings and the doors located at the tail.
The next components to make are: the cockpit interior components like the panel, the stick, the sights and the seat; the flaps, the ailerons, the navigation lights, a nice texture and rigging the plane.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
