HDD is back in action and Blender 5.1.2 - June 28, 2026
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2026.
I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. As most of you are aware, Julie (our family's dog) passed away on February 18. And, during those days I fell into depression. Some things related to my personal life haven't been going well and sometimes it has affected my work a little - making me think about finding something else to do in life and giving up my current position.
But now I'm doing alright. Probably in this week I'll resume my studies for upcoming civil service exams. There are some that are promising in case I plan to move on for another job - even if I'm going to gain more or less from what I'm used to.
I may resume to send my professional resume for any job applications in case the public notice of competition take time to be released.
After the Blog I wrote (Long absence, new updates for: J2M3 Raiden and M13/40 (new project) - April 25, 2026) where I talk about the issues that appeared on the HDD that my brother and I had to insert on the other computer in order to save most of our stuff into the other computer, then we formated it in EXT4 instead of NTFS. Most of the files are safe and sound, even though it takes a little more to run. I don't know why, but there's no need to worry. (I hope)
Still, some minor setbacks appeared that made us to reinstall Fedora Linux 44 to the computer I use. And no, I have no plans of going back to Microsoft Windows. I prefer to use Windows 11 via Winboat, even though I use it to run VDownloader or add images on my Blogs via Edge since I use Brave as the main website navigator and browser (Google don't get along with Brave. Because of that, some functions are disabled, especially the add image option on Blogger).
Enough of that, let's go to what is important. Currently I've been working on the future units and buildings to Ardra, my RTS mini-game on Unity3D. I'm sharing the updates on my other Blogspot: TonyGamingProjects. The link is available at the end of my every Blog.
I may share the images here in case you want to want to take a look.

Álfar Arboretum (comically known as 'Wood Farm' since the idea is to give the Álfar—High Elves—an alternative for gathering wood instead of cutting down trees)

Chaos Desecrated Citadel (main structure dedicated to train Cultists and Overlords)

Chaos Greater Demon Portal (formerly known as the Portal of Greater Demons - structure dedicated to train Hellguards, Hellhounds, Juggernaults and Devourers)

Chaos Spire (works like the Scout Tower or Undead Ziggurat, where you upgrade it into a defensive structure. In this case, the Spire of Flames or Spire of Destruction)
I plan to bring more content on TonyGamingProjects. For now you have the renders of these structures as a preview. I may change some things before the final product.
But now, the main point I want to share is this: I've been using Blender 2.93.5 at a time I was wary of the newer versions—especially 3.4.1, due to the program crashing while I was working on the Panzer III — adopting the older version since it was more stable than the 3.4.1.

And, since there are new things related to the Blender 5 version, I'm going to give a try on the current version: the 5.1.2. I know the community added new tools related to particle systems, texture nodes, modifiers, rendering and more.
Here is what I'll do: I'll keep the projects created in Blender versions 2.8 and 2.93.5 in separate folders dedicated to them. Meanwhile, I'll save the projects I was working on in the 5.1.2 to avoid version incompatibility issues. I'll see how they perform when I test them in Unity. Same thing I plan to export my future 3D models to Sketchfab.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
