New updates for: Tempest Mk V, P-47D, Ju 88 and B-29 - January 16, 2024
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog here to start 2024.
I know I've been absent for a while without a new Blog. I'm still working as a receptionist at the public health center where I live and my 7th semester is coming around February, my time for Blogs decreased to some occasions.
As you know, I passed in the civil service exams for community health agent as first place and eighth for receptionist. But I'm going to take advantage of the position of community health agent because it's a good role with good pay conditions. Now I have to wait for the town hall's calling for the vacancies.
For the calling process to work as a teacher, I definitely gave up due to the lack/low number of vacancies for mathematics teachers.
As always, Warframe brought a new Nightwave chapter, which will be a pain in my butt. My brother and I are performing the recent and the previous challenges in these days. It won't be long until we reach level 30 and give it another break. Don't get me wrong, but in the long term Nightwave gets annoying without a nice story while DE only brings cosmetics, some nice mods, Forma, Arcanes and other things (some are like "Mehhhh!" and others are like "Yeeeyyyyy!")
Enough of Warframe, let's go to the important thing in this Blog. I will share you some images of the projects I've been working in 2023 to 2024. The focus are my WW2 planes.
Hawker Tempest Mk V:
The Tempest looks nice in these renders. I decided to make the original texture from Clostermann's Tempest during WW2. I also included the Croix de Lorraine (Lorraine Cross in French).
Currently it is rigged and I'm working on its animations. I'll add some effects on its texture like the engine smoke marking on the fuselage, the Bump / Displacement texture and some wearing marks. There are some other decals from Clostermann's Tempest, but that will be for another time.
Republic P-47D-25-RE Thunderbolt:
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt received a nice texture based on the Brazilian P-47s that fought in Italy during WW2. The original olive color has been replaced with a mix of olive and brown. The lower section of the plane was painted in gray while the rudder remain with the green and yellow materials to represent the Brazilian flag / fin flash. Still, I'll make the metal lines from one plate to another. Also, the P-47 was rigged and the animations were made.
The bombs received a minor rework on its fins and UV mapping. Just to conclude it in a separate project. Then I imported it to the P-47 Thunderbolt, the P-38 Lightning, the P-51 Mustang, the B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-29 Superfortress.
Speaking on the B-29, I'll show you the new images of the American super bomber.
Boeing B-29 Superfortress:
The B-29 received its USAAF roundels and minor changes on its wings, engine nacelles and fuselage. Precisely the ailerons - made with a piece from the wings; the wing's leading edge has a temporary material; the forward landing gear is ready - with minor modifications in case I find more images; while the engine carriage is still in development. New armaments, antennas and aerial attachments were made.
In addition to the forward landing gear, I extracted a piece from the fuselage to make the doors. I tried a different way to subdivide without rellying on excessive subdivisions to the point of messing up with the model. My brother assisted me with bevels, which will help me for future projects. I may apply to my previous projects, but the downside is remaking the entire UV Mapping, main texture and Bump / Displacement texture. I may do it on the Avro Lancaster.
Also, I need to make the top windows on the B-29. However the main model for the fuselage has the Solidify modifer applied, but I have a preserved model with the modifier added for preview. After that, I'll make the additional components for the engines, a nice texture and rigging it. In case I plan to reuse the B-29's model for the Tupolev Tu-4 (the Soviet unlicensed copy from the American bomber), I have the Soviet VVS roundels included. I'll show its renders in the future.
Junkers Ju 88 A-4:
The Junkers Ju 88 A-4 received a pair of landing gears from the P-40 Warhawk, along a minor change on its propeller spinner, Junkers Jumo engine housing, fuselage, wings and rear section of the plane, like the tail fin and elevator. Other components added were the MG 15s for defensive role, the Pitot tube, the forward glass and the first components for the canopy.
Junkers Ju 88 C-6:
The Junkers Ju 88 C-6 maintained most of the components from the A-4, with the only difference is the forward section of the nose - made entirely in metal instead of glass. The idea is to make different roles for the respective plane, something similar for the Messerschmitt Me 262 with the A-1a 'Schwalbe' (fighter) and A-1a/U-4 'Panzerzestörer' (tank buster) models, the De Havilland Mosquito and the P-38 Lightning.
And to do that, I'll use the main project to make the two versions of the Ju 88, like I did for the Lavochkin La-5 with the La-5, La-5FN and the La-7.
So far this Junkers Ju 88 is looking good. I need to make some adjustments on its gondola, the fuselage, wings, the engines and the landing gear.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Welcome to 2024. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
