New Updates for: Tiger I and Spitfire Mk I and Mk IX - January 15, 2022
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another blog here to start 2022. I know I've been absent for a while without a new Blog. At first I had the idea of recording a new video for my YouTube channel, but I realized some things were a little messed up. For that I'll record it again and upload - probably tomorrow.
For this Blog, I'm going to show the new renders of the German Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. E, aka Tiger I; and the renders of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk I and Mk IX.
Panzer VI Ausf. E Tiger I:
The Tiger I received a new wheel located at its back side, a new component located inside of these 'shield plating' for the Maybach engine outlets and a small adjustment on the chassis and the 88 mm KwK 36 cannon.
Since it is the Ausf. E model - different from the H model if you compare some photos of its turret, wheels to guide its tracks, the additional engine exhaustion outlets, the smoke canisters and extra tracks on the turret and wiring, I may preserve some components in case I would make the other model - or the heavy Sturmtiger - with this one having a fixed bunker over the turret and a big mortar over the 88 mm KwK 36 cannon.
Supermarine Spitfire Mk I:
The Spitfire Mk I and Mk IX received a major update during 2021 and the transition to 2022. I made the 'door' at the left side of both planes for the pilot to enter the cockpit. I plan to add a bone for it and animate it in the landed mode. In addition, I remade its texture after I applied the mirror for the fuselage and the wings. Now it doesn't look messed up if I would add a second material for these components and select some vertices, edges and faces to load a texture of one side to match with another and the two textures don't connect well.
Some materials may be preserved like the one for the spinner (especially the Mk I model) and the green texture for the stripe at the end of the Spitfire Mk IX fuselage. Another thing that came into mind is using masks inside of the Shader Editor. In case you wonder what exactly is a mask in Blender, you can add a different texture using an Image Texture to attach it to the Diffuse / Principled Shader Node with a MixRGB. The idea for the mask is to add the lines of space between one metal plate to another and some details in case I would avoid using the main texture. It might be useful for roundels, decals, the Allied Invasion Stripes (the black and white stripes painted on the wings and the fuselage tail), smokes from the guns and engine exhaustion outlets and other elements.
After I make the bone for the 'door', the only thing to do to conclude the Spitfire is the texture for the panel. With both Mk I and Mk IX ready, I plan to make the Mk V. As for the clipped-wing Spitfire, I may plan to make it, but it will give me some work to adjust that section from the wing tip.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you enjoy this Blog. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
