New updates for: P-38L-5-LO Lightning and Nieuport 28 - December 16, 2025
Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2025. We are now on December 16 - approaching the end of 2025.
I know. I've been absent without writing anything new here. Updating the computer that I use, job, studies, playing video-games, watching some YouTube videos, listening to some musics and doing my chores at some moments decreased my spare-time dedicated to Blogs. I'm still moving some things from Windows to Fedora Linux and testing some things, like OBS Studio, Audacity and some other programs. I still need to see if I'm going to install HitFilms via Bottles or plan to find for another video editor software that could be compatible with Linux.
There are others, but I'm not going to consider Lightworks. I tried it once before knowing HitFilms, but my brother and I didn't enjoy it due to a series of factors. Yet, William told me Blender could be an alternative since there are video editing tools. However, there are some saved files from HitFilm that I didn't finish before installing Fedora Linux - mostly for my gaming channel: TonyTorius. (yeah, I'm going to mention it, even though I don't like mixing contents from one channel to another.) Once everything is fully migrated to Fedora Linux, I will format the SSD that contains Windows and pass it on to my mom, cousin or to a relative of ours. But that will be a possible future.
Alright, let's get down to business. I'm going to share you the images of the P-38L-5-LO Lightning and Nieuport 28.
Lockheed P-38L-5-LO Lightning:
I added some black areas on the fuselage and the nacelles, then a small adjustment on the UV Mapping on the air intake. But the big update was the mirror on the nacelles. Instead of an object, I decided to paint a white / silver circle and added a Roughness texture for the P-38 in order to make it reflect like a true mirror. I applied it to the P-38G model as well.
I may do some changes on the Bump texture along the Weathering; and add the dive brakes beneath the wings. And a nice texture - one with the Invasion Stripes on the wings and nacelles, the iconic texture for the P-38 from H&G (Heroes & Generals), Bong's P-38 - nicknamed 'Marge' after his girlfriend and my fictional FAB (Força Aérea Brasileira) P-38 Lightning.
Nieuport 28:
The French Nieuport 28 looks good in these renders. I added some strings on the wings, a leather foam, the cockpit components (seat and stick) and the forward framing. There's also a small component that I added to the fuselage. I don't know exactly what that is, but I imported from the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien project - with a remodeled version free from Subdivision Surface.
Incredible. Don't you agree?
The French biplane looks nice in these colors for Eddie's Nieuport 28. I added the 94th Aero Squadron after a redesign in Easy Paint Tool SAI.
However, I noticed a small thing that messed up with the fuselage's UV Mapping while I was working on the Bump texture. I have to fix it in order to conclude it. After that I'll show you the newest renders.
Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
