New updates for: Me 262 and SPAD S.XIII - July 6th, 2025

Hello everyone. It's me Antony, back with another Blog in 2025.

We are now on July 6th. The year is going by fast. The following days will be pretty long due to work and this month will have a single holiday in the middle of the week. At least, things are still looking good.

And, again, new Nightwave chapter is still on - with announcement of its conclusion for the next Nora Mix. As usual. (: /)

Let's go for what it's important than Warframe. For this Blog, I'm going to share you the recent images of the Messerschmitt Me 262 and the SPAD S.XIII.

Messerschmitt ME 262 A-1a:

The German jet fighter received a considerable update after so long. What changed was: I remade the rudder after revisiting War Thunder for more researches and a rework on its UV Mapping and textures after extracting a piece from the wings for making the automatic slats.

Similar to the Bf 109 and Bf 110, the Messerschmitt Me 262 also relied on slats for maneuverability and handling.

Minor updates were: a small projection from the wings' trailing edge that connects the engine, the air ports for the engine nacelles, the cockpit's dashboard and the Bump texture - with the latter still being worked on. After that, I'll add the Weathering markings, along the Metal and Specular.

Before moving to the next plane, I added more textures for the Me 262.

In addition to the single grayish paint job, I added a green and dark-green as a second texture and a green with brown as the third one. I personally like the last two textures over the gray one. Although the painting patterns remain the same, I may plan to add different patterns. But I have to use separate layers as Mask with Gimp 2.

The next thing to do is adding the roundels and decals to the main texture.

SPAD S.XIII:

The French S.XIII received more components, like aileron horns, the strings linked to the undercarriage, the forward windshield, the link to the rudder and engine exhaustion outlets.

The rudder was remade after some attempts. My brother noticed the extra subdivisions that could be worked on in order to reduce them.

After these components added to the biplane, the UV Mapping was made in order to paint its roundels and components.

Now it's looking great in these colors and French roundels. The wooden parts had the materials baked and added to the main texture. In addition to these, I added the Bump texture to the fuselage - with the lines for the engine air intake.

Next thing to do is rigging the biplane and concluding its textures. For the American SPAD S.XIII version, I'll paint the USA top hat on the fuselage. For Francesco Baracca's (WW1 Italian ace) biplane, the racing horse that would become Ferrari's famous logo. Some French version included a seagull / storch. But that would be for another time.

Well, that's it for now my friends. I hope you like this Blog. Let us hope this year bring us new content and something different from the usual. In case I have some spare time to enjoy, I'll be working on other things aside from Blender projects and my personal things. Until the time comes, you will be surprised to see them. See you next time.
